An update.

I'll go ahead and cut to the chase: I need to tell you what's going on with me, because it impacts my productivity and book releases.

I won't go into great detail, but I'm dealing with some health issues regarding my endocrine functions, my ADHD, and my sleep disorder. I'm not dying or anything - not even close - but I've been suffering from these issues since I entered my teen years, and I suspect they're a major part of why I developed chronic anxiety and depression.

When I was younger, these issues were much easier to manage. I could get by okay. But as I get older (and I'm not even "old" by any means - I'm only twenty-eight, so pretty young actually) it seems as if my problems are only increasing in severity, and it's giving me debilitating fatigue, brain fog, and bodily aches and pains, on top of making my anxiety and depression worse.

As you can imagine, this has slowed my progress in all aspects of my life, including my writing. I used to be able to write 3,000-5,000 words a day if I had all day to write; now I'm lucky to write 1,000 words in a day with the same amount of time.

This has been happening (worsening) slowly over the past few years. But now it's gotten to a point that I can't manage it myself any longer.

Good news: I have many appointments with various doctors in February, and I'm hopeful that we're finally tackling some of these problems. I'm hopeful that it's going to get better, and that by this time next year, I'm not going to feel like a zombie anymore.

Bad news: There won't be a podcast episode or a blog post in February. There might not be a podcast episode or a blog post in March either - it'll depend on how I'm feeling.

More bad news: I had to push back the release for The Bone Faerie. First I wanted it out in spring, then I thought maybe June or July would work. Now I know that if I push for even a July release, it's not going to be the best book possible, nor would it have the best release possible, and that's not what I want for this book.

The Bone Faerie is by far my favorite book that I've written yet, and it deserves the best chance at success.

So, I'm going to ensure it gets that. With my health issues right now, that means it's going to take a little bit more time to release than I initially anticipated - but I have faith it'll be worth it.

All that said, The Bone Faerie is finally available for pre-order on Amazon, Kobo, Apple Books, and Nook (it'll be up on Google play ASAP). It's set for release on September 9th, 2025.

If you'd like to help me reach my dream of one day supporting my family with my writing (or just make my day) please consider pre-ordering the book here and spread the word to all your bookish friends. You have no idea just how much pre-orders and word of mouth helps small authors like me.

See you next time!
